Psalms 2:1-6

The Reign of the Lord’s Anointed

1 ^aWhy do ^bthe nations rage ^{▼▼Or nations noisily assemble}
and the peoples plot in vain?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against the Lord and against his ^dAnointed, saying,
3 “Let us ^eburst their bonds apart
and cast away their cords from us.”
4 He who ^fsits in the heavens ^glaughs;
the Lord holds them in derision.
5 Then he will speak to them in his ^hwrath,
and terrify them in his fury, saying,
6 “As for me, I have ⁱset my King
on ^jZion, my ^kholy hill.”

Jesus Delivered to Pilate

1 ^lWhen morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people ^mtook counsel against Jesus to put him to death. 2 And they bound him and ⁿled him away and ^odelivered him over to ^pPilate the governor.
